We arrived at Duloch Park during torrential rain with the pitch and square completely water logged. The match was shifted to the artificial wicket but we were not prepared to play on a water logged square...The keenness of Kismet to play has to be admired because out came the regular household sponges and all 11 players were collecting water from the square and depositing it in small containers - wonderful! Sadly no HX players offered to help! The game was reduced to 30 overs a side.
Ken won the toss and put them in to bat; they raced to 40odd for 1 after not many overs. Good bowling and fielding (Scott was on a hat trick) had them all out for 109. For our innings Ken was out for 1 and Mike Nevin (40) and I (27) put on 78 runs. Mike was out ct behind and I was run out, taking a wander from the crease!! Scott (18 not out) and Crawford took us to the winning total. Good win in fairly arctic conditions.
